Born in Melbourne and raised on the Gold Coast, Dr Shehab Faragallah completed his dental degree at the University of Queensland in 2001. With over two decades of experience in the dental field, Shehab spent 10 years as the principal dentist and owner of a busy private practice on the Gold Coast. Over time, his passion for a more integrative and patient-centred approach to care led him to pursue holistic dentistry.
Shehab believes that holistic dentistry means seeing the patient as a whole person—not just a set of teeth. For him, the true satisfaction comes from helping patients achieve better health outcomes by understanding the connections between oral health and overall wellbeing. He takes the time to explore the root causes of oral issues, rather than simply treating symptoms.
A passionate educator, Shehab has taught clinical dentistry at Griffith University and continues to share his knowledge through public education and professional collaboration. He is the cofounder of Myospots Australia, an innovative tool designed to help improve breathing patterns and tongue posture—two key components in functional oral health.
Shehab has a particular interest in working as part of a multidisciplinary team to support children’s growth and development. He provides early interceptive orthodontic treatment and oral myofunctional therapy, helping young patients improve their breathing, posture, and jaw development from an early age. He also uses advanced tools such as the Waterlase laser to perform gentle and effective tongue- and lip-tie releases, often in collaboration with our osteopath, JP, for integrative care of Temporomandibular Disorders and related conditions.
Outside of work, Shehab enjoys reading, travelling, and spending quality time with his children. His calm, thoughtful nature and commitment to whole-body health make him a valued member of our team.
