John graduated from the Bachelor of Dental Science program at the University of WA in 1993, and then moved to the beautiful Gold Coast in 1996 where he’s been practicing holistic dentistry ever since. With over 20 years’ experience, John is the most experienced holistic dentist in the area.
We sat down with John and asked him a few questions. Check out his answers below to find out a little bit more about John, his holistic approach to dentistry and whether it could help you.
John: Holistic dentistry is an approach to dentistry which is considerate of not just the patient’s dental health, but also their physical and emotional health. Our aim is to not only improve our patient’s oral health, but to do it in a way that helps their physical and emotional health at the same time.
John: Everybody! It’s about treating the patient as a whole, not just their mouth. As such everyone can benefit. Your overall health affects your oral health, and your oral health can significantly affect your overall health if it’s not taken care of consistently.
John: The most common procedure is the removal of mercury amalgam fillings, and replacing them with more bio-compatible fillings. This is done in association with detoxification protocols and safe removal protocols so as to ensure that the process is carried out in the very safest way.
John: I love the fact that I get to help people each and every day. I like to see people who have been quite ill make a massive improvement towards better health. Being part of their journey from sickness to health is an amazing thing.
John: I came to the Gold Coast for what was supposed to be a year nearly 20 years ago. I loved it so much that I made the move permanent and stayed. I’ve mainly lived on the southern to mid-coast areas of the Gold Coast. I love the weather and the lifestyle, and that the beach and the mountains are all in such close proximity.
John: So far it has been Peru. The energy and the people – it’s a really spiritual place and I can’t wait to go back there.
Dr John Sotis specialises in the safe removal of mercury amalgam fillings and incorporates personalised detoxification protocols into the treatment of each patient who undergoes this procedure. This process may involve co-treatment with holistic GPs, naturopaths, craniosacral therapists, osteopaths and more.
